Self-hosted n8n, set up properly and kept running

We install n8n on your own server or on our managed infrastructure, configure it for production, build the workflows you need and hand everything over with documentation.

What a standard installation includes

  • n8n on your VPS or cloud account (Docker), on Kubernetes, or hosted by us
  • PostgreSQL instead of the default SQLite, with persistent storage
  • HTTPS, and webhook URLs that work behind your reverse proxy or Cloudflare
  • The n8n encryption key set explicitly and stored with you, so credentials can always be restored
  • Scheduled database backups and one test restore before handover
  • Access control with n8n's user management, or single sign-on in front of the editor
  • The workflows agreed in the scope, tested with your real accounts
  • A handover document covering updates, backups and how to recover

Moving to self-hosted n8n

If you already use n8n Cloud or an n8n instance running on SQLite, we migrate your workflows and credentials to the new setup, check that every trigger and webhook still fires, and only then switch over.

What is not included

n8n Enterprise licences, third-party API and AI model charges, and new workflows beyond the agreed scope are separate. Ongoing maintenance (version updates, backup checks and small fixes) is available as an optional monthly arrangement.

Why us

We run self-hosted n8n on PostgreSQL in production on our own Kubernetes cluster, and we wrote up how we do it in our engineering note on self-hosting n8n. Projects are quoted after a short scoping conversation: in ringgit for Malaysian clients and in US dollars for clients elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Kubernetes to self-host n8n?

No. For most small and medium businesses, n8n with PostgreSQL in Docker on a single well-maintained server is enough. Kubernetes makes sense if you already run it or need queue mode with several workers.

Is self-hosting n8n allowed under its licence?

n8n's Sustainable Use License allows free self-hosting for your own internal business use. If you plan to offer n8n itself to your customers, check the licence terms or talk to n8n about a commercial licence.

Can you look after our n8n after setup?

Yes, with an optional monthly arrangement covering version updates, backup checks and small workflow fixes.
