Frequently asked questions
Do you work with clients outside Malaysia?
Yes. We work remotely with businesses in other countries over video calls, WhatsApp, Slack and email, with an agreed overlap window for calls. Projects outside Malaysia are quoted in US dollars, usually from US$1,000.
Are you an agency?
No. Cassnetic Tech is a two-founder software company. Jasper Tham, a software engineer, designs, builds and hosts every project, and Cassey leads client relations. There are no account managers or junior hand-offs.
What does Cassnetic Tech do?
Cassnetic Tech is a software company in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It builds websites, e-commerce stores, web applications, SaaS products and AI automations, and hosts them on cloud or private Kubernetes infrastructure.
Where is Cassnetic Tech based, and who do you work with?
We are based at Solaris Dutamas, Kuala Lumpur. We work with businesses across Malaysia, and remotely with clients in other countries.
How much does a website cost?
For Malaysian businesses, published prices are RM2,500 for a one-page site, RM5,000 for up to five pages with a content login, and from RM10,000 for custom builds such as online stores, AI assistants, booking tools or dashboards. Clients outside Malaysia are quoted in US dollars, usually from US$1,000.
How long does a project take?
Simple websites go live in a few weeks. Larger web applications and SaaS products usually take 8 to 12 weeks.
Do you build AI chatbots and automations?
Yes. We build AI assistants for websites and WhatsApp, document and email processing, internal search over company documents, and automated workflows between business tools.
Who owns the website and code?
You do. The code repository and domain are registered to you. Hosting runs on our managed Kubernetes cluster or in your own cloud account, your choice, and you can move it whenever you want. We provide support after launch.
How much does a website cost with Cassnetic Tech?
For Malaysian businesses, published prices are RM2,500 for a one-page site, RM5,000 for up to five pages with a content login, and from RM10,000 for custom builds such as online stores, AI assistants, booking tools or dashboards. Clients outside Malaysia are quoted in US dollars, usually from US$1,000. Every quote is fixed before work starts.
Do you only work with businesses in Malaysia?
No. We are based in Kuala Lumpur and work remotely with clients in other countries. Meetings run over video calls and WhatsApp, and invoices can be issued in the currency agreed for the project.
Which framework do you use?
Mostly Next.js with React and TypeScript. It renders pages on the server, which is good for speed, Google rankings and AI search visibility.
Will I be able to update the website myself?
Yes, on the Grow plan and above you get a private login to change page text, photos and contact details. The layout stays as designed so the site keeps looking right.
Can you add an AI assistant to my existing website?
Yes. We can add an assistant that answers from your product, service and pricing information without rebuilding the site, as long as we can add a script or component to it.
Is my company data used to train AI models?
We use business API tiers where the providers state that API data is not used for training by default, and we keep your documents in storage you own.
Do you set up n8n or OpenClaw?
Yes. We run both ourselves. We can install and maintain self-hosted n8n or an OpenClaw agent on your server or ours, build the workflows, and connect them to your existing tools.
Do you build WhatsApp chatbots?
Yes. We build WhatsApp assistants on the WhatsApp Business Platform that answer common questions and hand the conversation to a person when needed.
Can you host a website you didn't build?
Usually yes, if it can run in a container. We review the code first and tell you what needs to change.
Which cloud providers do you work with?
AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Cloudflare and private Kubernetes clusters.
Do you take over existing Next.js projects?
Yes. We review the code first, fix what blocks you, and give you a written list of anything risky before taking on new features.
Which Next.js version do you use?
New projects use the current stable Next.js release with the App Router and TypeScript. We upgrade older projects when it is worth the effort.
Can you build an MVP for my startup?
Yes. We help you cut the idea down to what users need first, build it in weeks rather than months, and leave you with a code base that can grow.
Do you work on existing software?
Yes. We review the code, fix what is blocking you, and add features. If something is risky, we tell you in writing before we touch it.
Will a 3D website hurt my Google ranking?
Not if it is built carefully. The text and links stay in normal HTML, and the 3D scene loads after the page is usable, so search engines can read the page normally.
Do I need Kubernetes to self-host n8n?
No. For most small and medium businesses, n8n with PostgreSQL in Docker on a single well-maintained server is enough. Kubernetes makes sense if you already run it or need queue mode with several workers.
Is self-hosting n8n allowed under its licence?
n8n's Sustainable Use License allows free self-hosting for your own internal business use. If you plan to offer n8n itself to your customers, check the licence terms or talk to n8n about a commercial licence.
Can you look after our n8n after setup?
Yes, with an optional monthly arrangement covering version updates, backup checks and small workflow fixes.
Which AI assistants can use an MCP server?
A growing list of assistants and developer tools support MCP, including Claude and ChatGPT. We test against the specific clients your team uses before handover.
Is it safe to connect an AI assistant to our systems?
It can be, with the right design: least-privilege tools, authentication, audit logs, and confirmation steps for any action that changes data. We start read-only and add write actions deliberately.
Local or remote MCP server?
A local server suits one person on one machine. A remote server suits a team or hosted assistants, and keeps credentials for internal systems on the server instead of on every laptop.
Where is Cassnetic Tech located?
B2-2-3, Solaris Dutamas, No. 1, Jalan Dutamas 1, 50480 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
How much does a website cost in Kuala Lumpur?
For Malaysian businesses, published prices are RM2,500 for a one-page site, RM5,000 for up to five pages with a content login, and from RM10,000 for custom builds such as online stores, AI assistants, booking tools or dashboards. Clients outside Malaysia are quoted in US dollars, usually from US$1,000. Prices from other agencies vary widely, so compare what is included, especially hosting, ownership and support after launch.
Can you build a bilingual or trilingual website?
Yes. We have built sites in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Simplified Chinese with proper language tags so each version can rank on Google.
Do you work with companies outside Malaysia?
Yes. We work remotely with businesses in other countries, using video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. The founders lead every project directly.
How do you handle time zones?
We are on GMT+8 (Kuala Lumpur). We agree a regular overlap window for calls at the start of each project and reply on WhatsApp or Slack during it.
Can you build a multilingual website?
Yes, including right-to-left layouts. We recommend native copywriting for each language rather than machine translation.
Is a RM500 website worth it?
It can be fine as a placeholder, but check who owns the domain and site, whether you can move it, and whether it loads fast on mobile. Many very cheap sites are rented templates that disappear when you stop paying.
Do I need to pay yearly for a website?
Usually yes, for the domain name and hosting. Ask for these as separate line items so you know the running cost after launch.
Is it safe to outsource web development?
It is if the contract fixes scope and price, you own the code and domain, and payment is tied to milestones you can check in a browser.
Why outsource web development to Malaysia?
Malaysian teams typically work in English, sit in a GMT+8 time zone that overlaps with much of Asia-Pacific and the European morning, and charge mid-range rates.
Can I keep using my current WhatsApp number?
Often yes. Meta's coexistence option lets an eligible WhatsApp Business App number also connect to the platform, so your team keeps using the app. If your number isn't eligible, it moves to the platform and can't be used in the app at the same time. Eligibility depends on your country and account, so check it before planning the switch.
Will customers know they are talking to AI?
They should. We recommend a short introduction and an easy way to reach a person.
Is Next.js better for SEO than WordPress?
Not automatically. Both can rank well. Next.js makes fast, server-rendered pages with clean structured data easier, while WordPress results depend on the theme and plugins chosen.
Should I use n8n Cloud or self-host n8n?
n8n Cloud is simplest if you are happy with its plans and data location. Self-hosting gives you unlimited workflows on your own infrastructure and keeps data in your environment, but you are responsible for updates, backups and security.
Can I run several n8n replicas for high availability?
Not by simply raising the replica count. Use n8n's queue mode, with Redis and separate worker pods, to scale executions.
What transport should a remote MCP server use?
Streamable HTTP, which replaced the older HTTP with server-sent events transport in the MCP specification. It works through normal HTTPS load balancers as long as proxy buffering is off.
Can you build a custom MCP server for our internal systems?
Yes. Cassnetic Tech builds and hosts MCP servers that give AI assistants controlled access to internal data and tools, on your infrastructure or ours.
Can I run OpenClaw in Docker instead of a VM?
Containers share the host kernel and are usually given more access than intended, such as mounted folders or the Docker socket. A virtual machine is a stronger boundary for software that can run arbitrary commands.
Can you set up a self-hosted AI agent for my business?
Yes. We set up and maintain self-hosted agents such as OpenClaw in isolated environments, connect them to the tools you approve, and hand over documentation.
Why do website quotes vary so much?
Teams assume different scopes. One quote may include content entry, hosting set-up and search basics while another leaves them out. Ask every team to price the same written scope.
Is a fixed price always cheaper?
Not always. Teams add margin to cover the risk of overruns, so a well-run time-based project can cost less. A fixed price buys certainty, not necessarily a lower total.
What is a discovery phase?
A short paid piece of work that turns an unclear idea into a written scope, so the build itself can be priced and planned with confidence.
