How much does a website cost in Malaysia in 2026?
Quotes for the same website can range from a few hundred ringgit to tens of thousands. This guide explains what actually drives the price, so you can compare quotes properly.
Typical price ranges
These ranges come from Malaysian agencies' and pricing guides' published figures (sources below). They are vendor numbers, not an official survey, but they agree on the broad bands.
- Freelancer-built business website: roughly RM2,500 to RM10,000
- Corporate site of 10 to 15 pages: about RM5,000 (budget studio), RM12,000 (mid-range agency) or up to RM25,000 (premium agency)
- Template e-commerce store (WooCommerce or Shopify): about RM6,000 to RM15,000
- Custom e-commerce with local payment gateways: about RM15,000 to RM35,000, and RM35,000 to RM60,000 with ERP integration or multiple languages
- DIY website builders: about RM50 to RM300 a month
What changes the price
Number of pages matters less than people expect. The real cost drivers are custom features, integrations with other systems (payments, accounting, CRM), multiple languages, and whether the design is bespoke or adapted from a template.
Content is another hidden factor. If the developer has to write your copy or source photos, ask whether that is included.
Costs to ask about before you sign
The cheapest quote is often not the cheapest website over three years.
- Domain and hosting fees each year, and who the accounts are registered to
- Whether you own the code, or are renting a site you can't move
- Monthly maintenance or support fees
- What counts as a change request after launch
- Whether basic SEO (titles, descriptions, sitemap, Google Search Console) is included
Cassnetic Tech's published pricing
We publish our prices: Launch at RM2,500 for one custom page, Grow at RM5,000 for up to five pages with a content login and enquiry form, and Custom Build from RM10,000 for one main advanced feature. These are our Malaysian rates; clients outside Malaysia are quoted in US dollars, usually from US$1,000. The scope and price are confirmed before work starts, and you own the code and domain.

Frequently asked questions
Is a RM500 website worth it?
It can be fine as a placeholder, but check who owns the domain and site, whether you can move it, and whether it loads fast on mobile. Many very cheap sites are rented templates that disappear when you stop paying.
Do I need to pay yearly for a website?
Usually yes, for the domain name and hosting. Ask for these as separate line items so you know the running cost after launch.
